Job summary

FreshPoint, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to manage all RDC yard activities and the personnel involved, ensuring accurate records and resolving issues affecting inbound or outbound performance.

This role collaborates with Director of Transportation and warehouse teams to maintain efficient yard operations. You will hire, train, develop, and evaluate staff, coordinate coverage, oversee yard service, and ensure trailer locations, temperature controls, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of transportation modes and interstate commerce regulations preferred.
• Good knowledge of logistics/transportation operations and available services for the area and industry.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in resolving system issues which may arise in daily load processing.
• Monitor carrier and system status messages and mitigate inbound/outbound delivery impacts.
• Communicate daily with Director of Transportation, Claims Coordinator, and Transportation Supervisors and TOAs.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations teams and RDC carriers to facilitate production and yard operations.
• Oversee, hire, train, develop, evaluate and maintain discipline of Transportation Supervisors, Leads, and TOAs.
• Coordinate personnel coverage to ensure transportation functions are completed and provide support to TOAs and yards.
• Manage yard service operations to maintain adequate service levels for RDC warehouse operations.
• Oversee yard processes to ensure accuracy of trailer locations, temperature settings, refrigerated trailer performance, and safety.
• Understand and comply with all company policies; accept additional responsibilities as needed.
