Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Associate Learning & Development Trainer in Newark, CA to shape its Transportation Operations Management team. You will lead classroom, virtual, and hands-on training focused on safety, compliance, and operational excellence, supporting day-to-day yard operations and high-volume events.

The role requires a CDL, a high school diploma, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Class A CDL is required.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for long shifts.
• At least 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience within the last 10 years.
• Eligibility to drive in accordance with DOT requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver standardized classroom, virtual, and hands-on training following established curriculum.
• Conduct comprehensive new-hire onboarding covering yard safety, equipment operation, and Amazon policies.
• Provide continuous education programs, including safety refreshers and operational updates.
• Deliver safe-driving techniques and defensive-driving principles for OTR training.
• Ensure compliance with DOT requirements through proper vehicle inspections and documentation.
• Train associates on route planning, navigation, and emergency-response protocols.
• Execute yard safety observations and provide real-time coaching to Transportation Associates.
• Support yard operations during high-volume events through yard management and shuttling.
• Partner with site leadership to maintain safety standards and operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, completion, and safety observations.
• Track and report training metrics while providing feedback on program effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon policies, safety protocols, and DOT regulations.
