Responsibilities

• Deliver standardized classroom, virtual, and hands-on training following established curriculum.
• Conduct comprehensive new-hire onboarding covering yard safety, equipment operation, and Amazon policies.
• Provide continuous education programs, including safety refreshers and operational updates.
• Deliver safe-driving techniques and defensive-driving principles for OTR training.
• Ensure compliance with DOT requirements through proper vehicle inspections and documentation.
• Train associates on route planning, navigation, and emergency-response protocols.
• Execute yard safety observations and provide real-time coaching to Transportation Associates.
• Support yard operations during high-volume events through yard management and shuttling.
• Partner with site leadership to maintain safety standards and operational excellence.
• Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, completion, and safety observations.
• Track and report training metrics while providing feedback on program effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon policies, safety protocols, and DOT regulations.

Join Amazon's Transportation Operations Management (TOM) team as an Associate Learning & Development Trainer and play a crucial role in shaping our transportation network’s future. In this DOT‑regulated position, you will combine your transportation expertise with hands‑on training delivery to develop the critical skills of Transportation Associates (TAs). You will lead classroom, virtual, and yard training sessions focused on safety, operational excellence, and compliance, while supporting day‑to‑day yard operations and high‑volume events.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver standardized classroom, virtual, and hands‑on training following established curriculum.
• Conduct comprehensive new‑hire onboarding covering yard safety, equipment operation, and Amazon policies.
• Provide continuous education programs, including safety refreshers and operational updates.
• Deliver safe‑driving techniques and defensive‑driving principles for over‑the‑road (OTR) training.
• Ensure compliance with DOT requirements through proper vehicle inspections and documentation.
• Train associates on route planning, navigation, and emergency‑response protocols.

• Support yard operations during high‑volume events through yard management and shuttling.

A typical day may begin with a virtual training session on compliance updates, transition to hands‑on yard training, followed by one‑on‑one over‑the‑road training. Throughout the day you will document training completion, provide coaching, and ensure all activities comply with DOT regulations.

About the Team

The Associate Learning and Development (ALD) Training Delivery Team implements comprehensive transportation training programs through hands‑on and classroom instruction. The team collaborates with cross‑organizational stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, timely training that drives operational success and maintains safety excellence.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching.
• At least 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience within the last 10 years.
• Eligibility to drive in accordance with DOT requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of CDL driver‑training experience.
• Experience delivering structured training programs.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA rules, regulations, and record‑keeping.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
