Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or education/experience combo.
• 2-4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• CDL Class A preferred but not required; DOT regulations training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates; adherence to SOPs and safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA) and accurate electronic logs.
• Oversees labor hours and supplies within budget; prepares work schedules.
• Trains new associates and cross-trains existing staff.
• Directs use of company assets in support of delivery operations.
• Coordinates repairs with relevant departments as needed.
• Reviews delivery functions and productivity; suggests efficiency improvements.
• Interprets and enforces company policies including food safety and DOT rules.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve delivery issues.
• Visits customer locations to address delivery challenges; builds relationships.
• Maintains morale and leads department meetings; supports associate engagement.
• Collaborates with safety manager for training, observations, and incident investigations.
• Performs staff selection, development, discipline, and performance reviews.
