Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute in Kailua, HI is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the manager in coordinating delivery and backhauls, training staff, ensuring compliance with DOT/OSHA, and promoting safety and security of the department.

You will supervise daily work, ensure regulatory adherence, manage schedules, train new staff, and work with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues and optimize delivery operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• 2-4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• DOT regulations training preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT rules.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret regulatory procedures.
• Write reports and communicate with groups of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates.
• Ensures compliance with DOT/OSHA and maintains logs.
• Manages labor hours and supplies within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra shifts.
• Trains new associates and cross-trains existing ones.
• Directs use of company assets to support delivery.
