Job summary

North American Transportation Management Institute seeks a Transportation Supervisor to assist the transportation manager/director in supervising delivery and backhauls, training staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting safety.

You will oversee daily operations, ensure DOT/OSHA compliance, plan schedules, train new staff, manage assets, and coordinate with warehouse and customer service to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of transportation experience or training.
• Preferred: degree in business management or supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of transportation associates and ensures SOP adherence.
• Ensures DOT/OSHA compliance and keeps electronic logs current.
• Oversees labor hours and consumables within budget.
• Prepares work schedules including extra days and shifts.
• Trains new associates and cross-trains existing staff.
• Directs proper use of company assets to support delivery.
• Coordinates required repairs with proper departments.
• Reviews productivity and suggests efficiency improvements.
• Enforces company policies and safety protocols.
• Communicates with warehouse and customer service to resolve issues.
