The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for leading and controlling activities of branch warehouse personnel assigned to the Transportation Department. This position manages various warehouse activities in an accurate, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The successful candidate will manage staff and interface with other departments and customers.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and propose methods to increase productivity sustainably.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Ensure safe working conditions and train employees on safety methods.
• Manage collection, dispersal, and retention of driver logs, fuel tax reports, accident files, and registers.
• Counsel and manage employees regarding attendance, performance, and misconduct.
• Oversee maintenance and repairs of transportation equipment.
• Maximize cube fill rate, minimize delivery costs, and increase driver productivity.
• Direct proper shipping and loading procedures.
• Audit paperwork for accuracy and compliance with laws and policies.
• Coordinate with other departments such as Sales, Purchasing, and HR.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least five years managing transportation in a warehouse/distribution environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety and DOT regulations preferred.
• Experience with fleet management systems like Omnitracs preferred.
• Hazmat certification experience preferred.
• Organized, dependable, and a strong leader.
• Experience as a commercial driver preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of AS400 preferred.
