Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Buffalo, NY team. The role focuses on buildings, bridges, industrial facilities, data centers, and other structures, offering opportunities to contribute to design and construction documents within a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work‑related issues.
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including involvement in rehabilitation and new design projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional structural engineering work and inspections of proposed and existing site conditions to ensure conformance with standards.
• Develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and other disciplines.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, and construction drawings; ensure QA/QC.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers; provide guidance on design and analysis tasks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across multiple concurrent projects.
