Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Senior Technical Manager, Structural Engineer in Buffalo, NY to lead complex structural design across building and infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and delivering high-quality structural solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You'll guide projects from concept through construction, oversee budgets and schedules, and collaborate with internal design centers nationwide.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
10+ years of post-education engineering experience with structural/civil design.
Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
Strong knowledge of structural/civil design, codes, and QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

Provide oversight collecting and analyzing data from sites, surveys, and plans for project development and construction.
Apply high-level structural engineering techniques across complex building and infrastructure projects.
Conduct investigations and inspections to ensure conformance with regulations and safety standards.
Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates; coordinate with owners and sub-consultants.
Lead design teams from inception to completion; manage budgets, hours, and subcontractors.
Mentor staff and stay current with advanced structural engineering methods.
Collaborate across disciplines and with project managers and clients to address challenges and opportunities.
Uphold QA/QC and ethical standards in all deliverables.
