Job summary

WSP in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team. The role involves leading design efforts for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure, with a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, hands-on structural design experience, and a track record of mentoring junior engineers. You will collaborate with design centers across the U.S. and globally to deliver complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 3–5 years of post-education experience in engineering with structural/civil design.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles and design processes.

Responsibilities

• Determine data collection/analysis methods from site data, surveys, GIS, and reports.
• Perform professional structural engineering work, inspect site conditions, and ensure regulatory conformance.
• Develop construction plans, specs, and cost estimates with coordination across disciplines.
• Incorporate advanced modeling and design requirements for safe, future-ready structures.
• Lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams and mentor junior engineers.
