WSP in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Technical Director, Structural Engineer with 12+ years of experience to lead structural disciplines across buildings, bridges, and infrastructure. The role requires a professional engineer license and proven leadership on multidisciplinary projects.

The candidate will mentor staff, ensure compliance with codes, and drive business development within the region, collaborating with design centers nationwide and globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 12+ years of post-education engineering experience in structural/civil and infrastructure design.
• Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
• Advanced proficiency with structural engineering principles and design/build processes, including permitting and safety regulations.
• Strong knowledge of building and infrastructure design and related codes/regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the structural engineering discipline and ensure project deliverables meet standards.
• Review permits, design plans, specifications, and contracts for compliance with regulations and sound practice.
• Lead large, complex structural projects, manage budget and hours, and supervise subcontractors and staff.
• Develop business for buildings and infrastructure work within the specified geography and promote growth of structural services.
• Lead contract negotiations, presentations, and client meetings to advance projects and opportunities.
• Support long-term strategy and pipeline development for WSP in the region, focusing on infrastructure opportunities.
