Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Transportation Structural Engineer in California with a minimum of 5 years of experience in designing transportation structures, including highways, transit, and rail, with High Speed Rail exposure. Buried/underground and waterfront structures experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in design of new transportation structures.
• Experience with highway, transit and rail structures, including High Speed Rail.
• Buried and underground structures knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with inspection, load rating and rehabilitation of existing structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Uses knowledge of relevant structural engineering for transportation structures.
• Preparing design drawings, calculations, and details for various transportation projects.
• Design of new transportation structures and rehabilitation of existing transportation structures with close coordination with other disciplines.
• Review of shop drawings produced by fabricators and detailers, calculations performed by other engineers, coordinate with design team, site visits to address site issues and verify existing conditions, respond to request for information, oversee testing and monitoring programs.
• Assist with client coordination including coordinating deliveries, submittals, meeting, review comments etc. Clients include public agencies and private clients.
• Coordinating with other structural staff design departments and clients to complete projects to a high standard.
