Job summary

Sysco Corp. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the manager in supervising delivery and backhaul activities. You will train and supervise transportation staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote safety across the department.

You will supervise daily operations, ensure DOT/OSHA compliance, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college preferred in business, logistics, or related field.
• 2–4 years transportation experience and/or training.
• Class A CDL preferred but not required; training options may be available.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily work and safety of transportation associates and ensure SOPs and safety standards are followed.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA) and maintain accurate electronic logs.
• Manage labor hours and supplies within budget; prepare work schedules and shifts as needed.
• Assist training of new associates and cross-train existing staff.
• Direct asset utilization and coordinate repairs with proper departments.
• Review delivery operations, report productivity, and suggest efficiency improvements.
• Enforce company policies and procedures including food safety and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve customer or delivery issues.
• Visit customer locations to address delivery challenges and build relationships.
• Foster positive associate relations and conduct regular team meetings; monitor morale and engagement.
• Support safety manager with training, observations, and incident investigations.
