Job summary

Whitman Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking Construction Inspectors in Richmond, VA to manage field inspection and daily construction oversight on transportation projects. The role requires coordinating with multiple crews, reading plans, and enforcing contract compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of inspection experience, VDOT certifications, and strong reporting skills. A Bachelor’s degree is desirable, and a valid driver's license is required for site travel and inspections.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of field construction inspection experience.
• Experience with roadway/bridge construction and utility projects.
• VDOT materials certifications (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils & Aggregate) and Pavement Marking.
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification desired.
• Driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily construction management and inspection services for transportation projects.
• Review and ensure conformance to contract documents and plans.
• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and tracking documentation.
• Perform materials testing and maintain testing logs.
• Review contractor pay estimates; assemble data for Engineer's use.
• Communicate with Engineer, Owner, and project team on field conditions.
