Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Transportation Program Manager to lead large-scale transportation and infrastructure programs in the greater Chicago, Illinois area. The role requires a Registered Professional Engineer in Illinois (or eligibility) and a strong civil/structural engineering background.

You will oversee planning through closeout, coordinating with state and local agencies to deliver safely, on time, and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 15 years of related experience.
• Registered professional engineer in Illinois preferred.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Ability to lead complex transportation programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for transportation/infrastructure programs from planning through design, construction and closeout.
• Serve as primary liaison between clients, project teams, municipalities, state agencies, and contractors.
• Manage program scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risk and quality; deliver status updates to clients and leadership.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on transportation initiatives; develop proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams on technical excellence.
