Job summary

TPD, a leading national design firm, is hiring dynamic Engineers at all levels in a flexible, collaborative setting. The role emphasizes transportation planning tasks, field data analysis, and preparation of planning documents with hybrid work options depending on experience.

Ideal candidates have a 0–3 year engineering background, strong teamwork and communication, and proficiency with commonly used planning tools like Synchro, SimTraffic, AutoCAD, or MicroStation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with Synchro, SimTraffic, AutoCAD or MicroStation preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare trip generation estimates, roadway volume development, parking estimates and analyses for projects within the team.
  • Assist in analyzing field data, reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photos to plan projects.
  • Obtain, analyze, and interpret demographic and other regional transportation planning data.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and planning documents.
  • Assist in preparing or modifying planning documents, including transportation impact studies and traffic analyses.
  • Assist in collecting field data.
  • Serve as project representative.
  • Use planning software and equipment to prepare engineering, design, and planning documents.
  • Perform job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual or handbook.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparation of trip generation estimates, roadway volume development, parking estimates, and analyses for their projects within the team.

  • Responsible for other general office duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields
  • Experience utilizing any or all of the following (preferred but not required): Synchro, SimTraffic, AutoCAD/MicroStation
  • Aptitude for detail-oriented work assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s License
