Job summary

TPD is recruiting engineers with up to 5 years of experience for a hybrid role in New Jersey. Ideal candidates will contribute to transportation planning, traffic analyses, and project coordination within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields.
  • Engineer in Training Certification preferred.
  • Experience using Synchro, SimTraffic, Excel, AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Experience with traffic and parking studies preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare trip generation estimates, roadway analyses, parking estimates, and related analyses for projects.
  • Assist in analyzing field data, reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photos for planning.
  • Obtain, analyze, and interpret regional transportation planning data.
  • Use planning software and equipment to prepare engineering and planning documents.
  • Assist in preparing or modifying planning documents, including transportation impact studies.
  • Assist in collecting field data and serve as onsite project representative.
  • Support quality system tasks and general office duties as assigned.

Job description

Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Preparation of trip generation estimates, roadway volume development, parking estimates, and analyses for their projects within the team.
  • Assisting in the analysis of field data, reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs to plan projects.
  • Obtaining, analyzing, and interpreting demographic and other regional transportation planning data.
  • Use of computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and planning documents.
  • Assisting in the preparation or modification of planning documents, including transportation impact studies, and traffic operational analyses, for projects.
  • Assisting in the collection of field data.
  • Serving as onsite project representative.
  • Use of planning software and equipment to prepare engineering, design, and planning documents.
  • Responsible for job-specific quality system tasks as defined in the quality manual or handbook.
  • Responsible for other general office duties as may be assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related fields
  • Engineer in Training Certification Preferred
  • Experience utilizing any or all of the following: Synchro, SimTraffic, Excel, AutoCAD/MicroStation (preferred but not required)
  • Aptitude for detail-oriented work assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Experience with preparing traffic and parking studies (preferred but not required)
