Job summary

TPD in Melville, NY is hiring engineers at all levels. The ideal candidate has 4–8 years of experience, a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and the ability to work well in a team on multiple projects.

Key duties include managing projects, staff and clients; traffic and roadway design tasks; and on-site coordination with field staff. Salary ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 with potential growth and NY PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license in NY required (or able to obtain within first 6 months).
• PTOE desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with NYSDOT/NYCDOT/CTDOT/NJDOT experience desirable.
• Knowledge of CAD software (MicroStation or AutoCAD).
• Strong ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects, staff and clients.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as work zone traffic, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, DOT access permitting, control plans and traffic signal operations analysis.
• Assist in the preparation specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Assist with traffic/parking studies, corridor planning, feasibility studies, and safety audits.
• Coordinate with field inspection staff and serve as an on-site project representative.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
