Job summary

TPD in Melville, NY, is seeking Civil Engineers at all levels to join our multi-disciplinary team on traffic, roadway and signing projects. A NY PE license (or the ability to obtain within 6 months) is required; PTOE is desirable. Strong communication and team skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in NY required (or ability to obtain within first 6 months).
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with NYSDOT/NYCDOT/CTDOT/NJDOT experience (desirable).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects, staff and clients.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as work zone traffic, intersection design, traffic signal design, roadway signing and pavement marking plans, DOT access permitting, control plans and traffic signal operations analysis.
• Assist in the preparation specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.
• Assist with traffic/parking studies, corridor planning, feasibility studies, and safety audits.
• Coordinate with field inspection staff and serve as an on-site project representative.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid Driver’s License

Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000
