Job summary

HNTB in the United States is seeking a senior transportation planning leader to manage a staff of 6–10 planners and engineers in the Central States region, including St. Louis, MO.

You will direct budgets, staffing, and staff development while coordinating work across multiple offices to deliver transportation projects. The role requires a strong background in transportation planning and NEPA, with experience guiding feasibility through design and construction phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning/engineering or related field with 8 years' relevant experience, including 2 years of project leadership.
• Experience in transportation planning or NEPA process.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor, and manage the section's operating budget.
• Manage growth and professional development of the planning section.
• Coordinate section activities, establish priorities, and staff to jobs.
• Support SSA and SDA processes on project pursuits and delivery.
• Assist in marketing, client discovery, and proposal development.
• Recruit, hire, and develop section staff to ensure succession.
• Lead project management activities including scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Lead a team of 5–10 staff with direct and indirect supervision.
