Job summary

HNTB is seeking a senior transportation planning leader to develop and deliver projects within the Central States region, including Oklahoma City. You will manage a 6-8 person team, provide technical guidance, and coordinate delivery from feasibility through design and construction.

The ideal candidate has strong transportation planning or NEPA experience, with a focus on staff development and cross‑section collaboration to improve overall performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning or related field with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• 8+ years relevant experience including 2 years of project leadership experience.
• Experience in transportation planning or NEPA process.

Responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and manage the section's operating budget in support of the group or office budget and forecasts.
• Manage, grow and develop the discipline-specific planning section; set priorities and staff to jobs.
• Support SSA and SDA processes on project pursuits and related planning activities.
• Support contracting processes including scope, work plan and fee reviews.
• Lead project delivery processes to ensure quality work on time to client satisfaction.
• Assist in marketing, client discovery, proposals, and win-to-work activities.
• Maintain client contacts to ensure client satisfaction.
• Recruit, hire, develop and retain section staff with performance reviews.
