Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Des Moines, IA leads a transportation planning team. We are seeking a senior professional to direct a 6-8 person discipline group, drive NEPA and project delivery from feasibility to construction, and develop staff through mentoring and coaching.

You will manage budgets, align with SSA/SDA processes, support client engagements, and oversee recruitment and performance reviews to ensure high-quality service and on-time project results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Geology, Biology, Environmental Science, Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field and 8 years relevant experience including 2 years of project leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the section's operating budget.
• Lead a discipline-specific planning section of 6-8 staff, coordinating activities and staffing to projects.
• Support SSA contracting and SDA project delivery processes to ensure quality, on time results.
• Mentor staff and develop opportunities for professional growth.
• Support client development, including proposals, interviews, and win-to-work activities.
• Recruit, hire, and retain section staff and manage performance reviews.
