Job summary

First Student, Inc. is seeking a transportation operations role in Sacramento to support onboarding partners and manage daily trips for school transportation services.

You will collaborate with internal teams, develop client accounts, negotiate routes with local providers, and ensure safety, compliance, and high service levels while building lasting relationships with drivers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Assist in onboarding transportation partners and manage the daily trips.
• Daily customer management including start-ups, retention, and development.
• Assist in capturing new business opportunities with current customers and new clients.
• Acquire and manage staff equipment for trips (badges, business cards, etc.).
• Monitor new legislation affecting alternative student transportation and assist in implementation.
• Assist in finding, onboarding, and developing relationships with local and national providers.
• Communicate and negotiate proposed routes with local service providers during startup.
• Oversee accounts to ensure efficiency and client service levels.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and manage a large driver/partner pool.
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve service quality, reduce costs, and increase productivity.
• Maintain safety and efficiency for passengers, contractors, and non-riding public by following policies.
• Follow First Student policies while delivering excellent customer service.
• Learn and use technical skills to create reports, SOPs, and standard practices within FirstAlt.
