Job summary

Martin Brower in Minnesota seeks a Transportation Manager to lead Supervisors, Drivers, and Common Carriers to ensure on-time delivery to Distribution Centers. You will hire, train, and coach staff, monitor productivity, and ensure regulatory compliance and efficient scheduling.

You will also manage the transportation budget, coordinate with plants and DCs, and lead carrier meetings to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of related experience and 2+ years of management experience, or High School Diploma with 8+ years of specific experience and 4+ years of management experience.
• Master’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Transportation Manager leads Supervisors, Drivers, Common Carriers, and overall Transportation Operations ensuring that finished goods are delivered to the company’s Distribution Centers
• The Transportation Manager staffs, trains, evaluates, and develops team members by developing and leading improvement activities and engagement as well as monitors employee productivity and timekeeping
• This role will ensure adherence to delivery standards and regulatory requirements while managing drivers’ delivery schedules and hours worked
• The Transportation Manager develops and manages the transportation budget by reviewing and approving transportation invoices
• You will also work directly with manufacturing plants and distribution centers to manage carrier relationships and conduct carrier meetings
• Other duties as assigned
