Qualifications

• College degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or Business Administration is a plus or five years of transportation experience in a similar role.
• Experience in dispatching and dispatch supervision in trucking is required.
• Excellent leadership, communication and computer skills are essential.
• In lieu of a degree, five years of recent transportation experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with management to ensure workforce capacity to meet customer and company requirements
• Support improvements in managed areas and promote continuous improvement
• May act as primary contact for fleet operations to ensure efficiency
• Manage dispatchers and drivers to ensure timely pickup and delivery of truckloads
• Ensure compliance with HOS regulations and company policy
• Interface with central dispatch, customer service and customers
• Promote driver safety and safe work practices
• Update computer trucking systems
• Evaluate driver performance and compliance
