Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Transportation Manager to lead a safety‑driven team responsible for on‑time outbound shipments and cost‑effective operations. You will coach drivers, enforce DOT compliance, and partner with site leaders to optimize performance and service.

This role requires at least three years in transportation or warehouse distribution, strong leadership, and the ability to analyze data in Microsoft Office. Travel about 10% to meet with drivers and customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Experience leading transportation/delivery teams and knowledge of DOT requirements.
• Strong communication and people development skills; ability to analyze operational data.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a safety mindset to maintain injury-free operations for drivers and associates.
• Coach and develop drivers and Transportation staff through policy training and performance reviews.
• Oversee performance, address gaps, and drive cost-efficient, compliant transportation.
• Conduct safety meetings and ensure driver qualification files are maintained.
• Schedule shifts and optimize routes using planning tools like Microsoft Excel.
• Maintain zero-defect standards and ensure accuracy in outbound shipments.
• Collaborate with leadership to meet service and customer objectives.
• Drive team engagement and uphold US Foods values.
