Job summary

US Foods, Inc. is seeking a Senior Transportation Leader to drive safety, service, and cost targets across the transportation function. You will coach managers, develop drivers, and build high-performing teams while ensuring strict DOT compliance and cost-effective delivery operations.

The role requires five years in transportation supervision, strong leadership, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Expect 10% travel and a hybrid of field and office work.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in transportation/delivery supervision.
• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and people development skills.
• Strong understanding of DOT, inventory control, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Achieve safety, service, and cost targets in the Transportation department.
• Oversee Transportation Managers through coaching and policy training.
• Develop drivers and personnel; drive engagement and retention.
• Review staffing, hiring, and disciplinary actions to meet targets.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and improve delivery reliability.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities aligned with business objectives.
• Assist HR with CBAs and grievances in union facilities.
