Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to manage the facility's transportation operations, ensuring timely coordination, staffing readiness, and compliance with applicable laws.

The role requires CDL with Passenger endorsement and supervisory experience, with duties spanning budgeting, training, maintenance coordination, and stakeholder liaison. Ideal candidates will have strong regulatory knowledge, budgeting skills, and the ability to lead teams in a high-stakes

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• 1 year experience in detainee/inmate transportation with leadership responsibilities.
• CDL with Passenger endorsement required.
• 80 hours of verified DOT training within 6 months of appointment.
• Current driver’s license with clean record (no major violations in 3 years).
• Passing DOT and company drug/alcohol tests.
• Experience in supervisory capacity.
• Completed DOT-defined training and certifications (Corrections/Law Enforcement/Military).
• CPR, First Aid, Defensive Tactics and Firearms certifications must be obtained.
• Knowledge of state/cert contracting laws related to corrections.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse personalities.
• Ability to interpret complex instructions and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transportation staffing aligned with contract guidelines.
• Ensure policies and procedures for transporting detainees are followed.
• Supervise Transportation Supervisors and coordinate Transportation Officers.
• Facilitate training to improve staff knowledge and safety.
• Manage the transportation budget and vendor relationships.
• Monitor vehicle maintenance and safety inspections.
• Document incidents and ensure thorough reporting.
• Engage with external authorities as required and attend meetings.
• Maintain regulatory knowledge on DOT and transportation laws.
