Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee facility transportation operations and personnel. You will help schedule Transportation Officers and ensure detainees are transported safely and on time.

You will guide training, monitor compliance with DOT requirements, and support maintenance and regulatory documentation. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• One year transportation experience.
• Valid proper class motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements for Hours of Service and Vehicle inspections.
• Ability to set standards and procedures to establish satisfactory levels of performance.
• Ability to coordinate the demands of the transportation operations.
• Effective personnel interaction, communication skills, and problem solving techniques.
• Sound and effective leadership skills.
• Ability to effectively train staff.
• Ability to write reports, memoranda, policies, procedures, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist Transportation Supervisor/Manager in training Transportation Officers on transportation policies and procedures.
• Schedule Transportation Officers work assignments.
• Monitor officers during departures/returns to ensure care and custody of detainees.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules and repairs to meet company standards.
• Investigate and report accidents involving Transportation Officers.
• Transport detainees during emergencies or when other officers are unavailable.
• Issue vehicle departure orders per posted schedules.
• Ensure Transportation Officers’ weapons qualifications are current.
• Maintain DOT files and regulatory knowledge; participate in transportation-related training.
• May perform duties of Transportation Supervisor/Manager in their absence.
