Job summary

Sysco Corporation is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the manager/director in overseeing delivery and backhaul operations. You will train and supervise transportation staff, enforce safety and regulatory compliance, and promote efficient, compliant daily operations.

The role requires coordinating with warehouse and customer service teams, maintaining schedules, and driving continuous improvement in delivery performance while upholding company policies and standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
2–4 years of transportation experience and/or training.
Certificate of DOT regulations training is preferred.
Class A CDL preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Supervise daily work and safety of transportation associates, ensuring SOPs and food safety standards are followed.
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA) and accurate electronic logs.
Oversee labor hours and consumables within budget; prepare work schedules as needed.
Assist in training new associates and cross-training existing staff.
Direct asset use and coordinate repairs with relevant departments.
Review delivery functions and productivity; propose efficiency improvements and cost reductions.
Enforce company policies and procedures including food safety and record keeping.
Communicate with warehouse and customer service teams to resolve issues and address delivery challenges.
Visit customer locations to address issues and assess delivery difficulty.
