Job summary

Sysco Virginia is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to support the Transportation Manager in supervising delivery and backhaul activities. You will train associates, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and promote efficient delivery operations.

You will monitor DOT/OSHA compliance, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate with Warehouse and Customer Service teams to address delivery issues and improve performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2–4 years transportation experience and/or training; or equivalent.
• College degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily work and safety of Transportation Associates, ensuring SOPs and safety standards.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA) and accurate electronic logs.
• Manages labor hours and consumables within budget; builds work schedules.
• Trains new associates and cross-trains existing staff.
• Oversees asset usage and coordinates required repairs with other departments.
• Reviews delivery productivity and proposes efficiency and cost-reduction measures.
• Enforces company policies and safety procedures across the team.
• Communicates with Warehouse and Customer Service to resolve delivery issues; visits customers as needed.
