Job summary

Gold Star Foods is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee delivery activity and dispatch, ensuring safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service. The role supports the Transportation Manager and requires supervision of drivers, adherence to Hours-of-Service rules, and optimal utilization of equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree or supervisory experience, DOT knowledge, and a valid CDL-A.

Qualifications

• DOT knowledge required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to communicate and negotiate ideas, problems, or conflicts to a satisfactory resolution/implementation.
• Valid CDL Class A driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and retain an adequate pool of professional drivers ensuring compliance with safety and Hours-of-Service rules.
• Continuously review routes to reduce delivery miles/hours and improve equipment utilization.
• Dispatches, directs, plans, and coordinates daily operational activities of the department to ensure on-time departures.
• Coach drivers whose performance falls below expectations and monitor productivity goals.
• Maintain safety checks and ensure DVIR checklist completion for all vehicles.
