Job summary

Bethany Community Services is seeking an organized Transportation Coordinator to supervise staff, schedule routes, and ensure safe operation of vehicles for residents. The role focuses on reliability, adherence to safety standards, and responsive coverage for driver fluctuations.

The position requires experience in transport coordination, strong leadership, and excellent communication, with a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or a related field.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and vehicle operation standards.
• Ability to handle administrative tasks accurately, including scheduling and record-keeping.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet transportation demands.

Responsibilities

• Supervise transportation staff, including scheduling and coordinating shifts to meet residents’ transportation needs.
• Ensure drivers are properly trained and adhere to safety protocols and operational standards.
• Oversee the operation of Bethany Community Services vehicles, maintaining safety and compliance.
• Provide or arrange coverage for driver cancellations to ensure continuous service.
• Manage administrative functions such as driver scheduling, booking transportation and activities, and maintaining accurate records.
• Monitor and report on department revenues and expenses, ensuring budget adherence.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate transportation services for various programs and events.
