This role oversees direct driver management for a midsize fleet, ensuring safe, timely service, routing, and load delivery while maintaining compliance with DOT regulations. The position requires flexibility across day, night, and weekend shifts, with responsibilities spanning driver training, performance reporting, and cross-functional coordination with customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 2-3 years of experience in transportation/logistics.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Strong professional communication skills applied internally and externally.
• Proven ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships.
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and safety to minimize turnover and maximize productivity.
• Fill in for absent personnel and support special projects in fleet operations.
• Train and orient drivers and staff, including interfacing with internal and customer systems.
• Analyze fleet operations and profitability; present KPI and financial reports.
• Manage inventory, assets, and driver assignments to balance equipment in market.
• Handle payroll, driver counseling, audits, invoicing, and reporting.
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and safety repairs.
• Resolve service issues with drivers and customers during day-to-day operations.
• Promote safety culture with daily messages, trainings, and annual reviews.
