J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking an entry-level operations trainee to learn driver management, create efficient routes, and ensure safe, on-time freight movements. You will support payroll, budgeting, and reporting while collaborating with drivers, carriers, and customers.

You may work nights or weekends and will relocate regionally as needed to support account assignments. This role emphasizes DOT compliance and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or GED with 1 year of experience in management/transportation/logistics
• Willing to travel to account locations and events
• Able to work nights and/or weekends as needed
• Willing to regionally relocate based on account assignment
• Experience leading a team is preferred

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and outside carriers to ensure smooth carrier setup and productivity
• Fill in for absent personnel and on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability
• Train drivers and staff on internal systems and processes
• Analyze KPIs and prepare customer-focused reporting and financial analysis
• Assist with payroll, budgeting, invoicing, and routine reports
• Assist with fleet maintenance coordination and safety compliance
• Coordinate load assignment, routing, and on-time freight movement
• Support resolving service issues and driver/customer inquiries as they arise
