Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to execute daily tasks and activities.
• Supervise driver deliveries, loading/unloading, and customer service operations in line with cost objectives.
• Direct scheduling of workforce and equipment, manage performance and disciplinary actions.
• Participate in hiring processes and customer meetings as needed.
• Hold team meetings and communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable.
• Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance, providing coaching.
• Motivate and engage the team through recognition of achievements.
• Supervise logistics operations including dispatch, documentation, and control of procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies.
• Provide relief coverage for operational duties when necessary.
• Maintain working knowledge of site systems to ensure compliance and resolve exceptions.
• Complete records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
• Understand customer goals and strive to meet or exceed expectations daily.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in operations.
• Plan work assignments to maximize fleet effectiveness and safety.
• Collaborate with vendors and Penske Truck Leasing on maintenance scheduling.
