Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Manager, Transportation to lead a safety-first, cost-conscious transportation operation. You will mentor drivers and Transportation associates, oversee performance, and ensure accurate, timely outbound shipments to customers and distribution centers.

A strong emphasis on safety, training, and regulatory compliance guides daily decisions. Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in transportation or warehousing, plus leadership experience and DOT familiarity.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in transportation, delivery, or warehouse distribution.
• At least one year of experience supervising a workforce.
• Driver experience is a plus.
• Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations and procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
• Solid understanding of DOT requirements and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret financial and operational data.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead a safety-first transportation culture with injury-free operations.
• Coach and develop drivers and transportation staff through policy and procedures.
• Supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical staff.
• Schedule shifts and manage planning tools to maximize efficiency.
• Ensure DOT regulatory compliance and safety training across the team.
• Identify gaps, coach performance, and implement cost-effective improvements.
