Job summary

Garver is seeking a Transportation Intern - Roadway in Ridgeland, Mississippi. The role offers exposure to highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage design as part of a collaborative design team.

The intern will learn DOT standards, gain experience with MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster, and participate in Garver Launch activities that promote networking and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.

• Previous internship experience preferred.

Internship Description

• Actively participate in plan preparation and design by working alongside our dynamic team and being exposed to many aspects of transportation engineering including highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage designs.
• Become familiar with relevant DOT standards for highway design and plan preparation.
• Learn and utilize industry-related design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster.
• The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team.

Requirements

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
