Job summary

Garver is seeking a Transportation Intern for our Overland Park, Kansas office to assist with roadway design tasks while pursuing a civil engineering degree. You will participate in plan preparation, design exposure to highway and drainage work, and learn DOT standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication are expected. The Garver Launch Program supports networking, wellness, volunteering, and tailored training to grow your professional skills within a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Strong interest in pursuing a career in transportation engineering.

Careers Transportation Intern - Roadway Overland Park, Kansas Our experienced Overland Park Highway Transportation Team is seeking a civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as a aRoadway Design Intern.

Internship Description:

• Actively participate in plan preparation and design by working alongside our dynamic team and being exposed to many aspects of transportation engineering including highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage designs.
• Become familiar with relevant DOT standards for highway design and plan preparation.
• Learn and utilize industry-related design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster.
• The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
