Job summary

Garver's Dallas office is seeking a Civil Engineering student for a Transportation Intern - Roadway role to train and mentor as part of our Highway Transportation Team.

You will participate in plan preparation, learn DOT standards, and work with MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster, developing professional skills in a collaborative, in-office setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in transportation engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable and responsible; previous internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in plan preparation and design across highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage projects.
• Becoming familiar with relevant DOT standards for highway design and plan preparation.
• Learn and utilize design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster.

Our experienced Highway Transportation Team in Dallas, TX is seeking a civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as aRoadway Design Intern.

Internship Description

• Actively participate in plan preparation and design by working alongside our dynamic team and being exposed to many aspects of transportation engineering including highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage designs.
• Become familiar with relevant DOT standards for highway design and plan preparation.
• Learn and utilize industry-related design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster.
• The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team.

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting.
