Job summary

City of Flagstaff seeks an intern in Civil Engineering/Planning to support the Transportation Team. You will work with the Multi Modal Transportation Planner and Senior Transportation Engineers on a range of tasks from field data collection to GIS projects.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a related program, with a valid driver's license. This role emphasizes customer service to internal and external stakeholders and offers hands-on municipal transportation experience in Flagstaff.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a college program related to civil engineering, planning or transportation planning.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Arizona license upon employment.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to assist a range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support work order development and track requests for service.
• Perform field inventories, measurements and data collection for streets and infrastructure.
• Assist with Safe Routes to School initiatives and GIS projects.
• Contribute to literature reviews and research on emerging transportation topics.
• Safely operate City vehicles as needed and respond to citizen requests.
