Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Planning Intern to join our Transportation team. You will work with senior modelers on a portfolio of public, federal, and industrial projects, assisting with data analysis and travel demand modeling tasks.

You will explore basic traffic data collection, GIS usage, and reporting, while gaining hands-on experience in model validation and data preparation for modeling inputs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled and taking courses toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data analysis and potential coding for travel demand modeling projects.
• Check travel demand model output and conduct comparison/validation analyses with existing traffic counts.
• Develop data to input into travel demand models.
• Assist with basic traffic data collection, reporting, GIS usage, research and ad-hoc assignments as needed.
