• Travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is required.
• Promotional Only: Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Human Resources Specialist Associate.

**Disclaimer-this position will be considered classified-exempt and “at will.” The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) is hiring a Human Resources Generalist 2 to join our dedicated Human Resources team at the District 8 Headquarters in Randolph County (Elkins, WV). While your primary focus will be leading benefits administration and guiding employees through their coverage options, you will also receive valuable cross-training across all other areas of HR including on-boarding, recruitment, training, and workforce analytics. If you are a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a passion for supporting people, to grow your career while serving West Virginia Department of Transportation. **Preference may be given to Candidates with these qualifications**

TRAINING/EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Experience in human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula.

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid paraprofessional human resources, payroll, bookkeeping, or accounting experience.
• Substitution: Successful completion of graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience through an established formula.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT

• Travel may be required; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required.
