Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Group Director to lead a professional multi-discipline team across offices, guiding design, development and delivery of project tasks while controlling scope, budget and quality. This role requires overseeing budgets and coordinating staffing for 25–40+ staff, ensuring client satisfaction and on-time delivery.

The successful candidate will mentor staff, drive strategic planning, and coordinate with office leadership to implement the firm’s sales and delivery approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 12 years of practical experience including 4 years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the development and management of operating budgets for departments within the Group and coordinates with the office budget.
• Oversees group activities, establishes priorities and assigns staff to projects; collaborates with other groups on work-sharing.
• Drives strategic planning, SSA procurement, contracting (SCA) and SDA processes for project pursuits and delivery.
• Manages project scope, schedule, budget and quality; coordinates staffing and resources to meet client expectations.
• Supports marketing, client discovery, proposals and win-to-work activities; maintains client contacts and growth efforts.
• Recruits and develops staff, supports performance reviews and succession planning; participates in office leadership activities.
• Leads a group with 25–40+ employees; performs technical tasks across research, design, specifications and plans.
