Job summary

HNTB in Virginia is seeking a Group Director to lead a multi-discipline team through design, development and delivery of project tasks, while supervising budgets, schedules and quality control.

You will coordinate with office leadership to apply strategic sales and planning approaches, drive SSAs and SDA processes, mentor staff, recruit talent and ensure resources meet client needs across multiple offices including Arlington and Glen Allen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 12 years of practical experience including 4 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary group of 25–40 staff.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises operating budgets for departments within the Group.
• Oversees activities of the group and assigns staff to projects.
• Drives strategic planning and market pursuits through SSA process.
• Manages contracting (SCA) process including scope and fee reviews.
• Leads project delivery processes to ensure work is on time and to client satisfaction.
• Participates in marketing activities including client discovery, proposals, and win-to-work efforts.
• Maintains client contacts and supports department growth in sales and marketing.
• Recruits, hires and retains department staff; supports performance reviews and succession planning.
• Manages project scope, schedule, budget and quality; mentors staff.
• Leads a group of 25–40+ employees.
