Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Fort Worth District is seeking qualified candidates for GIS Analyst II or III to support the District Maintenance Office. The role involves advanced GIS data development, integration, analysis, and producing maps and graphics to support transportation projects.

Responsibilities include administering ArcGIS Online and related accounts, collaborating across agencies, and applying GIS/GPS methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems or related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis.
• GIS Analyst II: 1 year using ESRI products in cartographic production, GIS or GPS analysis. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
• GIS Analyst III: 2 years using ESRI products in cartographic production, GIS or GPS analysis. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Utilizes ArcGIS Online to create and maintain feature services and web mapping applications.
• Reviews geographic data from various sources, including other state agencies, aerial imagery, existing maps, and databases.
• Assists in the creation of custom tools and applications using Python, HTML/JavaScript/CSS, SQL and/or other coding languages.
• Collects GPS data and converts GPS data into GIS datasets.
• Collects, prepares, digitizes and codes spatial data into GIS format.
• Administers SDEs, ArcGIS Online accounts, GitHub, and other accounts.
• Assists with administering SDEs, ArcGIS Online accounts, GitHub, and other accounts.
• Conducts mapping research to ensure accurate use of data and resolve conflicting information.
• Develops and maintains links between attributes and other databases.
• Uses linear referencing to update and maintain the roadway network and attributes.
