The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks an Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer to coordinate county-wide maintenance and construction activities in Bamberg County. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and three years of engineering or construction management work experience.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate activities on a county-wide basis, scheduling major operations including maintenance and installation of driveways, signage and pavement markings, drainage structures, litter/debris removal, vegetation management, bridge maintenance, and other special operations.
• Supervise all field crews in Bamberg County and maintain weekly/monthly reports, timesheets and cost records.
• Prepare materials orders for major maintenance operations and reports on work performed and scheduled.
• Ensure material availability for scheduled and unscheduled work; conduct weekly work zone inspections and monthly safety meetings.
• Communicate with requestors regarding complaints; determine scope of work and corrective actions for complex projects in line with department rules.
• Maintain Herbicide license and apply herbicide in-house or via contractors; coordinate Jet-Vac truck with other counties.
• Supervise the Special Equipment Crew Lead Operator; participate in personnel actions and performance evaluations.
• Assist in preparing contracts and communicating with vendors for resurfacing, sidewalk repairs, vegetation control and tree removal.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Formation

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science

Three (3) years of engineering or construction management work experience
