Job summary

Fishbeck in Michigan is seeking a Transportation Intern to assist on bridges, roads, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients.

You will design drawings with AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer, support engineers with calculations, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices to deliver projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Interest in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location: Regional Michigan Offices

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Transportation team, you will assist in the design of bridges, roads, and other civil projects for the DOT.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients.
• Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
• Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
• Participate in solving real engineering challenges and managing project deliverables.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Previous internship or DOT project experience is helpful but not required.
