Job summary

Tighe & Bond in Shelton or Middletown, CT is seeking an Entry Level Staff Engineer to join the Transportation and Traffic Design Team. You’ll tackle civil traffic projects across the Northeast, supporting analysis, design, and documentation with a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Eng degree, FE exam/EIT by 2027, and familiarity with Synchro or HCS, with strong communication and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• FE Exam or EIT by June 2027.
• Familiarity with traffic analysis tools like Synchro or HCS.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic analysis and modeling.
• Assist in development of traffic signal timing plans.
• Support preparation of traffic engineering plans and design documentation.
• Review traffic data including volumes, crashes, and speeds.
• Draft technical memos and traffic studies for clients.
• Assist with CTDOT permits and Traffic Management Plans.
• Participate in field investigations and data collection.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on integrated designs.
