Job summary

Tighe & Bond, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Staff Engineer to join the Transportation and Traffic Design Team in Shelton, CT or Middletown, CT. You will support a range of projects and gain hands-on experience in traffic analysis, signal timing, and design documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with roadway, drainage, structural, and environmental teams. A FE/EIT track is preferred, with opportunities to advance toward licensure and professional development in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Passed FE Exam and obtained EIT, or plan to by June 2027.
• Familiarity with traffic analysis tools such as Synchro, HCS, or similar.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic analysis and modeling using tools such as Synchro and SimTraffic.
• Assist in the development of traffic signal timing plans and intersection improvement concepts.
• Support the preparation of traffic engineering plans, cost estimates, and design documentation.
• Review and analyze traffic data including volumes, crash history, and speed studies.
• Help draft technical memoranda, traffic studies, and feasibility reports for state and municipal clients.
• Assist with permit documentation such as CTDOT encroachment permits and Traffic Management Plans.
